I think your point is valid. I have two Saabs and wonder about parts. If GM drops the brand, I would think that 9-5 and NG 9-3 parts will trickle along for a while. The selfish side of me can see some virtue in this.
It may be a long shot, but one of these investor groups could really make something of Saab. Think 10 years down the road after the GM styling has been reduced, and a couple of new models have come out. The potential does exist for a real hit. A model that pays homage to the Classic 900 seems a no-brainer to me. Throw a diesel in it. Or maybe a diesel hybrid. 50MPG car, with subtle C900 lines and AWD. I like dreaming and if GM cuts it off, I have to wake up.
PS: To Saab's new owner: Keep Saab's reputation for ultra supportive seats! With all the techno gadgetry, the driver still has to spend all that time on his or her derriere.
