The C900 move to Finland coincided with a couple things: the CV (Convertible) and the 2-door 900. Prior to that, the Valmet plant built 96s, 95s (I think), 99s (especially after the C900 came out for the 79 model year), and the Saab 90.
Mostly the Saab-Valmet plant in Uusikaupunki built cars for the Sandinavian/European market, "orphan" cars towards the end of their life (96, 99...), and "premium" cars (Convertibles, Viggens). The "bread and butter" cars were mostly all built in Sweden, though often demand dictated otherwise.
Oh - almost forgot the one other almost "series" production Saab - The Classic 900 CD! This was built through most of the 80s. It is basically a C900 4-door sedan, lengthened by several inches behind the "B" pillar. The roof is longer, the floorpan is longer, the headliner is in two pieces, and there's almost as much rear seat legroom as my Sister's BMW 740IL... This was Valmet's answer to the "Executive Car" market. Something nice and comfy for executives to be driven about in.
The 2-door 900 was really intended for the Scandinavian market. The 99 from 1981-1984 was only sold in Scandinavia and maybe Europe, and the 90 was only ever sold in Scandinavia.
I've owned three Saabs from Finland (1990 900, 1986 900 CV, 1980 99), one from Belgium (1977 99 EMS) that was immediately parted out, and the rest were Swedish (several 900s, one 9000 and two 9-5s).
