my first Saab, a 900T 5speed four door Rose Quartz (not Quarts...), later found out this was the first year for the 16 Valve too, was $18,600. didn't get the leather, fog light, and power sunroof. that was about another $1,600. I had no fogs, cloth, and manual sunroof (this was the only one that I later figured out I really wanted the power sunroof - good news the one reference below does have that option package and the leather is in excellent shape, the fogs need new lenses, and the power sun roof works very well)
2 years later when we replaced my wifes twin 1985 to above after a total in a crash... a 1987 900S four door was... $18,600. No turbo, SAAB marketing if you want a four door with a turbo buy that new 9000, we wanted a trunk so did the 900S
five years later I traded in my 1985 900T 5 four door w/ 190,000 miles on it (a 924 for those that understand that nomenclature...) for a 1992 9000 9000CDT auto (CD meant a trunk!) for $31,000. I still have this car "Goldie" and it has 298,000 MILES on it. It was also the last new car we have purchased.
We have:
A1 - 1994 9000T 5sp Aero - $7,000 used with 72k miles on it from NM
A2 - 1996 9000T 5sp Aero - $1,300 with blown head gasket and 135,000 miles on it
Goldie as above
Blackie Goldies twin purchased for $2,000 in Nashville and driven back to San Diego
Red - 1987 900T 5 speed convertible purchased for $3,500
BC - 1991 900T 5 speed convertible purchased for $350, needed a new top and a transmission after the thiefs finished with it.
Rosey - 1985 900T 5 speed 4 door purchase from Jim Vickers Saab sales guy with blown head gasket and front end cosmetic damage
R2 - 1987 900T 5 speed is my number two racer (R1 was decommisioned and stripped - it was a 1985 900T 5 Speed three door)
R3 - 1987 SPG purchased for $150 with working turbo engine and 5 speed, drove back from Long Beach, with a really really terrible twice done paint job (but it works well for my purposes)
SPGtwo - 1988 Black SPG needed a head gasket and some TLC, $500 from a guy that just wanted to get rid of it, he got when the PO a family member died.
Silver - 1991 900T 5s Three Door for $300, guy thought the trans was going out, purchased it sight unseen over the phone, when to pick it up and figured out the CV joints were in really bad condition...
Ones that are gone but not forgotten are parts red, whitey, R1, SPGone, a Grey SPG sold, Parts White, Greenie (1993 green convertible turbo) and Slow Greenie (1993 green convertible 2.1 NA auto) and Grey 1987 900T auto convertible, and too many more...
