Just a couple of decades ago, Audi almost pulled out of the US market. With the early 90's A-series cars, they have made huge gains in market share and total cars sold.
I think it'll be tough, but Saab could do something similar. Personally, I hope that Saabs never get as common as Audis, but I hope that Saab can find a sweet spot somewhere north of where they sit right now. I mean this in terms of total volume, brand-perception/recognition by the general public and enthusiasts, and in long-term viability.
Personally, I don't get all excited about luxury cars, but I do want my cars to be engaging and useful. Saab has a long history of finding that balance, and I hope they can continue with it.
