The state insurance commissioner's office is there to protect residents from fraudulent and negligent practices by insurance co's. When I was in an accident with my viggen, they wanted to tell me the value was $7k. I let them know I would be reviewing the case with the insurance commissioner's office, and I built a file of similar vehicles showing prices were thousands higher than their quote. They fixed the car.
On a side note, this is a great example of why I'm going to switch my 85 900 over to classic car insurance with Grundy or CCI. Agreed upon value of $10k costs less than $300 per year.
