I do have the odometer statement, and the car shows up as a "trade-in" for the 9-3 I leased when I turned in this 9-5. Therefore, I have proof I turned in the car. If necessary, I can get the paperwork from my friend to prove the car was sold within days of it being turned in.
However, I cannot find any "lease return notification", and this is what worries me... that they can forget that there was a lease pull ahead program and claim I owe them for a couple months rent + the disposition fee that, at the time, the dealer claimed was waived. I have no proof here, aside from the fact that none of the paper work mentions that I owe them anything, and wouldn't you think it would if this was legit?
I'm mostly worried that the burden of proof will at some point land in my lap, and I don't have much to fight back with (an odometer statement)... How do I prove the dealer waived the disposition fee? How do I prove there was a lease pull ahead program?
On the other hand, I think there's a 50-50 chance that they will not be able to come up with a breakdown of the charges, and it is all complete BS caused by a faulty data migration process.
