WOT: AAH refrigerator! Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Sat, 27 Mar 2010 12:22:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The refrigerator at my rental is relatively new (maybe 5 years?). It's a side by side... Frigidaire maybe? Wednesday we noticed stuff hasn't been too cold. I had ice cream that's usually rock hard and it's pretty soft. I shuffled stuff around inside and set the thing to MAX COOL and waited 24 hours. It's still 50 degrees in there! Freezer was about 17. I read online the fridge should be 35 and the freezer should be 5. I called the landlord and he's bringing us a NEW one tonight. Just for hahas I pulled the front grille off and checked the coils. They were a little dusty; nothing scary though. So I vacuumed them out and put the thermometer in the freezer and it's dropping like a ROCK. Right around 9 now... still dropping. WTF!? My father suggested it's in a defrost cycle. But that wouldn't make it warm for 4 days, and I have a hard time believing the tiny bit of dust I vacuumed off made a huge difference. The compressor is running and it's hot. What do you think? Should I call off the new fridge?
