Aero vs non Aero Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Mon, 19 Apr 2010 12:06:14 In Reply to: model info, don [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 17 Apr 2010 16:27:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It's confusing because before 2006 only the Aero had the 17" tire and wheel package, sport suspension and sport seats, but for MY 2006 all 9-5's had the 260hp Aero motor (up from 259hp in 2005) and 235/45-17's (up from 225's in 2005), but the differences are the chassis, seats and dash. IIRC they are all 2.3T, but the non Aero has normal seats and a darkwood dash, whereas the Aero version has the sport seats and aluminum look dash. And the Aero look cars also have the sport suspension which is firmer and has a lower ride height than the standard suspension.
To further confuse matters in 2006 IIRC there were many normal cars with the sport package, we had the identical equipment as Aeros but weren't labeled as such, just 2.3T on the back with no Aero badge. Again IIRC they got that straightened out for 2007.
