SAAB's 9-5 print ad in Car and Driver

Bummer. Saab seems to be messing up. In the most recent Car and Driver they have an ad for the new 9-5. It's mediocre. The car is shown from the rear 3/4 view and looks OK--maybe not the best angle.
The verbiage in the ad is sad. It states the 9-5 is turbocharged "recycling gas energy and reusing it to push more air into the cylinders..." My witty rejoinder is "DUH!" and other blah, blah, blah. Doesn'T a make either an emotional or logical case. Marketing of a car in print needs to push one or the other, otherwise its not to do what the object is--get people into the dealerships.
This may work for Readers Digest but come on if you spend $ in a car mag then up the ante--people buying car mags want raw emotion or overwhelming stats to stir them. Since Saab doesn't have performance advantages to sell then sell the expertise in reliable turbocharging etc.
Anyway, I hope they find their way. The article in the mags states he 9-5 is "the luxury car for people who don't want to shout it" which is good. The lows are that it states the 9-5 is "refined and smooth, but it's not very exciting". IMO: the Aero version should be exciting and refined and smooth should be for the mainstream models. Come on the 2.8 V-6 can produce WAY more than 300hp if they get stronger transmissions.
My 2 cents..Later.
