A couple things from experience...

Get a good quality pre-paint cleaner from an auto body supply store. Any kind of contaminants on the surface will cause fisheyes. If you are not removing trim like door locks and handles be sure to clean particularly well around them and scuff the old paint with 800 grit paper to avoid future peeling. You can use a spray lacquer for the color. If you are doing a 2-stage paint job (base coat/clear coat), I'd recommend using SprayMax 2K clearcoat aerosol instead of a lacquer clear coat. It will be much tougher and more resistant to chemicals that can cause issues like crazing or clouding. It also lays down really smooth. It's made for clear coating small repairs, but I painted the whole back half of my daily driver with it and It worked great.
