I have driven but do not own a 9-3 w/XWD and a 2.0 turbo. I think it is fine - but my thoughts when driving them were that they don't quite feel as peppy off the line if you are used to something more like a Viggen as a daily driver.
That does not mean that the XWD 9-3 is underpowered with a 2.0 turbo - just that it isn't the same type of acceleration... although I did not beat on the 9-3 XWD I drove to see what it does if you have a heavier foot on the gas - I assume it goes just fine from a stand still.
The highway driving I did in 9-3's w/XWD didn't leave me feeling as though it was a less powerful Saab than I am used to driving. It was responsive and able to pass with ease.
The lower gas mileage didn't impress me - and I am not knocking Saab for that - but I am used to higher MPG's from front wheel drive only, 2.0 turbos with manual transmissions.
