Storing car for winter again, squirt of oil before or Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Sun, 14 Nov 2010 09:15:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
after I store it?
Some of you have told me in the past not to bother, and some of you have told me to do it. I'm sure I will hear a mix of both by I've decided a squirt of oil (1 tbsp) can't hurt.
Before I store it, I change the oil and drive it 30-40 miles. Question is, if I put in a squirt of oil, should I do it before, or after storage?
I know the point of doing it BEFORE storage is so you protect the walls, but with fresh oil in there and it only being stored for 5-6 months, that will not be an issue. It's the dryish start that I don't like in the spring, which is why I thought about putting oil in before I start her up.
If I do that though, seems like I may just do it before storage for added protection.
I think I may have answered my own question..... :-)
