I agree... I love the 1989 c900 without abs because I can threshold brake or lockup as I choose (lockup sometimes stops faster in deep stuff (so long as you don't need to turn), as you can plow it up)... I look at acceleration the same way... except power that gets you beyond the point of slipping is useless... modulating must get a bit of power in there before each slip, which probably also works, but not as well as just keeping it a hair under the threshold continuously...

I love how Saabs are great at relaying this kind of information back to the driver... makes them easy (and fun!) to drive in snow...
