You have a good point, but it's a tough call. Most wagons are all scratched up at the rear bumper because the cargo scrapes over the bumper top so easily.

As someone who rarely parallel parks, and has never had any damage done to a car of mine due to parallel parking, I'll take the protected loading surface.

Of course, careful loading and careful choice of parking can mitigate both risks.

I like it. I hope it's available (at some point) with a manual and, if not the highest output engine, at least a sport/Aero suspension option.
