Isopropyl alcohol contains usually about 30% water.
At a minimum it contains 5% unless it is "anhydrous".
Anhydrous is very expensive as it requires a special water removal method that can't be done with distilation.
As such the isopropyl alcohol you buy behaves as a hydrophylic (water liking) substance.
Not only will it not combine with your gas, it will suck out the methanol from your gas too.
That is a problem.
You will be left with a seperated gasoline mixture of alcohol water at the bottom of the tank and pure gasoline on the top.
It will look like salad oil on top and water on the bottom.
That is BAD!
Your car will then choke as it is not made to work on pute alcohol/water mixture that will be at the bottom of the tank.
The way around this is a water injection system. It needs to be tuned for turbo or non-turbo based on the type of vehicle you own.
Then you can run windshield washer fluid, which is predominantly methanol.
This mix will be sprayed as tiny droplets by the injection system into the gas air mixture, bypassing the gas tank and separation issues.
I hope this explains things to you.
Best,
U2bC
