Saabs are often underestimated because they really aren't very good at doing 0-60. They are hard to launch, hard to get the power down and hard to shift fast. But they have tons of torque and they make it down low. And I think Saab doesn't always tell the truth on how much horsepower they actually have, perhaps for insurance purposes. Where they really accell at is racing from a float. I know I raced my friend's Dodge Magnum (with a Hemi) in my old '98 900SE (5 speed) from 70 mph and we were dead even to 120mph. In fact I was just starting to pull him a little when we had to back off. Top Gear once tested a 9-5 and said it was faster then a Porsche 911 from 40 to 80. I've had great fun over the years surprising cars they were generally thought to be faster. People look at the 0-60 times and think they know something, but it doesn't tell everything.
