not to suggest that irrational ownership behaviour does not happen with the newer cars, but... those who (still) own one of the classic saabs from the days before GM often do have a bit more reason to hold on to them - they are a bit more than just basic transportation... basically, now the c900 is becoming a collector's car... they are a modern icon for Saab, so, like an old Mustang or whatever, good ones probably should be well cared for + rotted out ones should feed the living... sure some of us still use c900s as daily drivers, partly because the darn things won't die + although parts break, they're pretty easy to fix and parts are mostly still readily available (there's ~20 c900s at a local yard, 4 in the pick + pull section)... most c900 owners with c900 daily drivers have multiple cars, often multiple c900s so they can swap parts (we have 2)... actually there are a bunch on the c900 board with serious habits (7 or 8 cars)... it can be an addiction!
all that is to say, I'm not surprised to see a c900 owner trying to find a good home for their worn out baby... we just put a bunch of $$ into brake work on our winter beater (a 1989)... probably irrational... but owning it is way cheaper than buying a new car and though it doesn't have bluetooth and 300hp, driving it is a hoot because they handle great... only way to kill one is rust, or maybe a dead tranny (if there is enough rust to not justify a transplant)...
