Try the closest CarMax. They have a very straight forward purchase process. Their bid should be a very good one, whether you want to purchase from them or not, they buy used vehicles. You'll wind up with a good number to play off any other place. Dunno' how that relates to your expectations of the values, but that's out of yours and my control.

As to the merits of trade vs sell it yourself, well some folks are way overqualified to sell vehicles. They have the time, the knowledge, the skill and the room to sell their own vehicles. Others know they don't have what it takes, or just don't want to put out the effort. These folks can be content to know that wholesale or trade in vehicle values have less of a spread than any other consumer item. That is the retail values vs the trade in or wholesale values are closer than any other item one could sell. Right now used cars are in short supply.
