GM will not be the problem. It is the EIB bank loan. Saab is (way) out of compliance of the terms of their loan.
Saab being saved was an impressive thing just over a year ago. It was rather surprising that at that moment wage structure and employment levels were not significantly changed (the way they were at US car companies, that are now moving forward in a healthy way). Just hoping for large numbers of Saab sales won't get this done - the evidence is really clear on that today. Even if (and I sincerely hope it happens) Saab can get new money onboard and the loan extended, they will need to change their cost structure to have any real hope of moving forward. Saab needs to stop bleeding cash. If they can and do, Saab may continue in Sweden.
