well, I guess there probably is some short term business sense to them, but eg, used to be Minnesota North Stars... which imho is a reasonable name... move the team to Dallas? can't really keep the "North" part, but it is the lone star state, so I get it... Then the league starts a new franchise... "Minnesota Wild"... why not just get it right the first time?

Lots of Canadians are displeased with the moving of the Jets and Nordiques... good to see the Jets coming back... I'm less passionate about specific teams these days (always was a Flames fan, even prior to their glory days in the 90's + still am, but more in moderation), but I like to see the Canadian teams + original 6 do well... in some sense, the original expansion teams (Canadian ones in particular) hold some "original 6" appeal to me, as the original expansion is what I grew up watching... I get what Mark is saying... renaming/relocating the Oilers or Flames would be almost as bad as renaming/relocating the Canadiens imho... will be awesome to get the Jets back!

I hope Hamilton gets a team also... many there hate the Leafs + go to games in Buffalo instead! Imho it would be viable...
