the og9-3's are a blast... I'm coming from a couple fairly pedestrian c900s so even a base 9-3 is really fast in comparison... smoother, but doesn't handle as tightly in corners as the c900 imho... we have 2 young kids so that plays a little into why we got the 9-5: a little better side impact safety, a little bigger is handy (though ours is a sedan, was too hard to find a good wagon, miss the hatch), a more current model so parts availability should be better down the road (we keep cars for ages it seems)... the car was newer also... the 9-5 is a fantastic touring car... we mainly use the c900s around the city though (more fun)...

but if we hadn't found a great deal like that, we'd probably have an og9-3. great cars, and as you say, a fantastic bargain used (with a little knowledge of what to look for)...
