- bad pedal bearing (but I don't think so)
- bad pedal assembly, as in the side plates are loose
- loose crank
- bottom bracket bearing or cone issue
- frame issue
Creaks can be hard to find. They tend to echo through other parts and aren't always where you think.
The frame issue is the most dangerous. Usually frame creaks can be reproduced by pushing hard from either side, vs just one, but examine it closely. If there are any cracks then it can get nasty fast. Not trying to worry you, but you should check it.
The crank issue is the second most dangerous. There can be a crack in the part of the crank that mounts to the BB mount. Check it closely. It could be a little loose, but loose often leads to fatigue, so check that too. You don't want to break a crank, it gets ugly too.
