Larry, I recall you mentioning on the 9-5 bb that you have 1 more set of programmed guts than cut keys. When you programmed the guts, did you insert each set of guts in a key body, or did you just place them near the ignition (and if so, how close?)...
the question a few (myself included) have is: will the car start if a transponder is dangling right next to the (flat) key, ie on a key ring?
Obviously this is not a ready-made option from Saab, but the combination of a flat second source key + a hack-job fob made out of an old remote key would do the trick... could unlock the car manually, clip on the remote + drive... the idea being, leaving a remote in the car is probably more secure than leaving a key with remote in the car... maybe this is unnecessary paranoia...
I will try to test this in the next day or 2 + will report back, but any info is of course much appreciated...
btw Ilco also makes a blank transponder key for the thin shaft models: $80 cut at our locksmith... it's pretty thin (at least compared to the remote keys)...
