So, any good tricks out there? Maybe it was me, or the fact that I purchased the scantech instead of oem elring gasket, but I had a heck of a time this last round. I ended up reluctantly using some permatex #2 to stick it to the cover in a dozen spots... and I had to do that a couple times before I got it to stay well enough that I was satisfied it was in proper place before the bolts went in.
It was still a PITA. I didn't want to glue it all around, because I know what a RPITA it will be to remove that stuff the next time go in there. Not to mention, I have this vision of it unleveling the gasket install and causing leaks (maybe I'm just paranoid though).
Your technique?
