I spent several years in the so called 'Paris of the Prairies", and it was morons like this who kept us up and operating at night.
Those roads are long and stgraight and smooth BUT have dear, mule dear, moose, and dozens of intersections where farms meet highways.
That being said... there was a day when a young guy was returning from AB to "Saskabush", (let's say it was my cousin), in his 1986 SPG (which had USA plates meaning the summons would not hit his insurance costs), and went so fast his turbo blew the grommets out of his engine while still making it up to 230kph... or so the story goes.
He was later pulled over at 130kph and laughed, and when the officer saw that he said "you must have been going a lot faster just before I caught you because you were slowing down. "My cousing" just stayed mum and smiled, took the ticket, popped open the hood and pushed a few grommets into place, and drove off with a grin like the cat who got the mouse. Now "I wasn't there", but that is how the story goes.
