Not to start a flame war here, but it seems to me

that as long as you're running an A3/B3 synthetic all will be well in your engine.
I'm sure petroleum engineers and the oil hobbyists at Bob is the Oil Guy can wax poetic about the differences between oil types and brands in a technical sense, but I'm not so sure the specific oil is all that crucial for most of us in our daily drivers with 5,000 mile oil change intervals.
The A3/B3 spec on newer Saabs seems to do a fine job, and I have two '96 9Ks, a '99 9-3 and a '03 9-5 all on that spec with Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntech, usually 5W40, 10W40, 5W50. All are working fine with 105K to 184K miles on them.
While using oil with the correct specs really is important, oil is marketed like anything else and some of the hype (and paranoia) is just that. All IMHO, of course. YMMV.
