hello again everyone,
Posted about two weeks ago with questions about my 99' 9-3 base showing a CEl code of P0106. The MAP was replaced earlier this year so I was concerned in may be something else. My mechanic called me today and said the ony issue he could find is that the Wastegate actuator is seized shut (from how I understand it). he claims that this would cause the P0106 code because of to much manifold pressure. So this leaves me with three questions.
1) Does it sound reasonable that my Wastegate Actuator could cause the driveabiltiy issues I have been experiencing (stalling, sudden loss of power while on the move, CEL for the MAP sensor)?
2) Is there a way to purchase a new Wastegate Actuator from saab or a reputable supplier? I checked eeuroparts and the Saabsite and neither had one listed. I did find a Forge branded one for $135.00. Will this work? I do not intend to tune this car in anyway and am not really at this point looking for a performance upgrade. ( I would really like to just get the Saab working properly first:-).
3) I lookked at the actuator on our 98' 900SET and the actuator seems like a pretty simple job to replace. Does anybody know what type of labor is involved to replace it?
Thanks in advance. Everyone on this board is super helpful all the time when i run into Saab troubles.
I also posted a link to the Forge Wastegate Actuator that I found online!
