OT: I guess my ire at ComCast was misplaced, partially Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 30 Sep 2011 14:25:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced my 10+ year old LinkSys hard wired router today with a LinkSys E2500 Dual Band "N" Wireless router. I want to be able to use my work laptop in more locations that just the kids' old bedrooms which have the Ethernet jacks, and the kids have so many wireless devices when they come home to visit.
Previously every Internet Speed Check would show download and upload speed of 3 to 4 GB/sec, well below where I thought my "High Speed Internet" should be running. After installing the new router my download speed is 21 GB/sec and upload speed is 3 to 4 GB/sec. These speed were via the Cat-5 cable and not wireless.
It appears the bottle neck was my old router and not ComCast.
