absolutely. but, presuming the investor's purchase in said highly volatile stock is a tiny fraction of their portfolio, the transaction fee alone might represent a sizable % of that 10% such that recouping the 10% might be less desirable than holding... in which case $100 to $10 is essentially $100 to $0. (nevermind that using stops + limits, there should never be a 90% loss anyway)...
at this point, unless one knows more than the rest of the world (VM included?), it's just gambling: how much is the chance that it won't dissolve worth? it's not like multiples make sense on a company that's been out of production for 6 months +...
I don't own this stock + I haven't even followed it at all, but much like the Chinese see a value buying opportunity for the right price, so might an individual investor... I am not saying the stock value today necessarily represents that price... maybe the inherent value of the company (however one wants to measure that in this case!) has dropped faster than the stock price (maybe that is what AIS is saying here)... caveat emptor!
