Depending on your engine... I speak for T7's and late T5's (post pump change). I have no specifics on later motors and I don't know what pump they use.
There's a post floating around somewhere wherein a tech did some back to back pressure tests of 30 and 40 weight oils and aside from some 30's that were just under the 40 bar in manufacturer viscosity tests, no 30 weight maintained adequete pressure in the motors tested. You can also ask anyone who has installed an oil pressure gauge: after a hot run, they all move a 40 weight if they weren't there already. The numbers drop significantly with a 30 weight down into the "this makes me uncomfortable" region.
