I've had 3 Acuras since my 9-3 (which I still own). An 04 TL, an 09 MDX, and a 10 TL. I also had a Volvo S60 between the 9-3 and 10 TL. I didn't get rid of a single one because of age or mileage, just needed a different vehicle at different points in life over the past 10 years.
These cars are built much better than the 9-3 still I own, and the 9-7, OG 9-5, and NG 9-5 I shopped them against. And I kind of like the fact that these have "Honda" engineering underneath them. You know why?
RELIABILITY....something Saab has struggled with, especially during the GM days.
My 10 TL up against the new 9-5 is no comparison. The TL winds hands down. There are a few things I don't care for about the TL (back seat doesn't fold all the way down for instance), but as somebody who puts 23,000 miles a year on a car, the Acuras have held up very nicely, and have never become "uncomfortable" to drive like my 9-3 did (getting out of the car and limping because of stress on my hip e.g.)
And there are many difference between the Hondas and Acuras. Sure the current TL is based on a stretched Accord, but other than that you can't really compare the two.
And if you think the TSX is underpowered as a 4 cylinder, go test drive a V-6 powered TSX wagon. Plenty of power.
