travelling in the yellow striped zone.... Posted by GFW3pedals [Email] (#405) [Profile/Gallery] (more from GFW3pedals) on Fri, 30 Dec 2011 14:38:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just another of those little traffic peevs that I think those who do it really are clueless as to what they are doing. I'm talking about the two lanes of traffic in each direction, that end at a light or stop sign, where an additional turning lane is created into the median space, where before the actual lane there is a good 200 feet of solid yellow striping across the lane. Not a broken left/right median. Solid stripes. That yellow striping is there to define when traffic is allowed to begin moving from the travel lane into the turning lane. Yet many folks feel they are getting the jump on those in front of them who also intend to turn left, but may or may not yet have their signal on,regardless they drive on the yellow stripes and sometimes actually pass on the left, surprising those that are following the markings and turning when it is intended for you to do so,as the yellow stripes curve for a smooth progression into the turning lane. I have clicked my signal and turned in front of these idiots more than once, when safe to do so of course, but the look you get is one like your in the wrong and they have every right to do that, since your too dumb to get the jump on the turn. Right.
