There is no such thing as book value for new Saab's at this time that is meaningful. It appears the well publicized blowouts found buyers for 9-5's at prices that were about 60 to 65 percent of the sticker price. The Aero 6 AWD had actually an easier time of being sold than the 4 cylinder. The discounts and those that remain are running towards $20K at most.
The next stage is upon us and that is when there are no more "new" 9-5 s to buy . Then if you want one the used market will be where you go. Then we will start to see a blue book value emerge. No one knows where that might fall, but very few cars are an investment anyway. If there is a publicized problem i.e. a critical part in the computer fails and immobiles the car then within a year you can buy aused one for 10K. Assuming that does not happen it is possible to see the value at about 20K. But really if we could figure this one out we can go to Wall Street and make a fortune.
