What about the oil filter? That NEEDS to be changed at the time of oil change. Nowadays the oil lasts longer then the oil filter media.
To make it easier on myself, when I change the oil, I installed a Fumoto valve. Keep that on and only twist a lever to drain oil. Then change the oil filter. The Fumoto valve is standard equipment on Japanese cars in Japan, so... I have it on both our SAABs for a couple of years now with good results.
The pumps are good if someone not knowledgeable with SAABs adds more oil than necessary to engine and you need to take some out to be level(4.1qts).
Cheers!
