I used to buy my tires from Costco but I'm now doing TireRack and the local guy now. Why?
With Costco, they offer free lifetime rotations but everytime I needed a rotation I had to wait upwards of two hours because the tire dept is always jammed. The local guy does it in less than 15 minutes.
Plus, the local Costco now will only mount tires with the speed and load rating the car originally came with probably because of the lawyers. So, for my '06 9-3 SC, they said I had to have a V-rated tire with a load rating of 97 because that's the OEM spec. Fine. But maybe an H-rated tire and a 93 or 94 load rating is close enough, etc.
I'm still OK ordering tires from TireRack but the local guy is very price competitive so I'll be using them for the next set of tires I need in a few months for my 2010 9-3 SS.
