he's been saying over + over that BMW would be a best case scenario + though I didn't like it a while back, I have to agree with him that it is almost certainly the best case option for Saab today. As he has pointed out, it gives BMW the opportunity to sell fwd cars without diluting the rwd heritage of the BMW brand. The saab factory could conceivably be configured to produce BMWs also when Saab demand is low (ie better factory utilization). There would be no need for Saab models that overlapped or competed with BMWs, so focus could be on the really saaby stuff (hatches, wagons, not suvs and sedans)... And for Saab, instant credibility + instant dealer network + distribution. No longer any need to grasp at straws to sustain the brand to profitability... normal business processes can prevail.
As much as the Chinese market is a big one, I'm a lot more comfortable with BMW than a Chinese bus maker...
