My 9000 seems to be arranged the same way. Funny, that...
Did you know the Swedes drove on the left till 1967?
In fact, one-third of the world's population drives on the left including Japan, India, South Africa and great chunks of what we Brits used to call The Empire
Many high-performance European cars were built right-hand drive even though they drove on the right - Lancia are a good example. I was told by my Dad (born 1905 and an amateur racing driver and Bugatti owner) that this was to make it easier to see the edge of mountain roads, before they put anything there to stop you falling off
If you want more, there's Wikipedia of course but for a more personal take, here is someone who seems to have devoted more of his life to the subject than seems strictly wise
