So what's up with Pentosin Hydraulic fluid?? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 15:30:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I went to the parts store today to by a litre of Pentosin CHF202 since my current can of CHF-11s is nearly empty. The clerk went into the back room and came out saying he didn't have any, they just had the 11s fluid. OK, that is fine with me. The Owner's Manual says to use CHF11s which has since been superceded by CHF202 (or so I thought).
The clerk is friendly and talkative, says he has not yet heard of the 202 but they always keep a couple of cans of 11s in stock. I replied that the 11s has been discontinued and next time he orders some he will likely receive 202. He replies the cans in stock just arrived (and they are whistle clean to support his statement).
The new CHF11s can also has a weird red stopper style cap that appears it may be a single use cap, not good. My previous cans all had a screw-on cap.
So I have to assume that Pentosin changed their minds and now make both the CHF11s and CHF202? Since the specs appear nearly identical, which is the beter fluid to use?
