Which is where you really take a whacking on cars like that. After two years that $120,000 Mercedes has a book price of say $60,000, which is bad enough, but getting someone to pay it is a whole other thing. Used car buyers willing to spent $60k are real rare. I can still remember some high roller fallen on hard times who tried to trade his top of the line MB in at a Honda store where I worked. He was pretty surprised when the used car manager said he wouldn't buy it for any price. He'd shopped it all over town (including the MB dealer) and NO ONE wanted it--no one would even put a low ball number on it. Can you imgine what these cars cost to maintain once the warrenty is up? The costs in the article are what it cost to maintain while it's under warrenty--sheesh.
