"Swedish engineers are known for being inventive and progressive, but that's when they are developing new solutions. I'm not sure forcing an electric powerplant on an old ICE platform is going to deliver anything breakthrough enough to sell these anyplace but China--if even there. "
This is obviously a stop-gap measure while they continue work on the Phoenix platform. Sounds like a good idea to come up with a refreshed ePower 9-3 than go that much longer without a product.
I'm no big fan of EVs, but if SAAB can be turned into a viable European competitor to Tesla, that would be a great thing. The new Model S is selling out and is a brilliant piece of engineering. Too large and pricey though IMO. A car $10,000 less with a C900 footprint would be great.
