Scott, I know something custom would be more work, but if you think this is necessary, please go the custom route and not the Facebook app/API route.

Even though I use Facebook to keep up with friends and relatives around the country, I like to limit what Facebook gets to share and how it shares it...at least as much as I can with the tools they give me. This idea of Facebook letting you "like" things on other sites is just a way for them to drive more info and content through their site, something I try and avoid by not using any Facebook apps.

I realize that the tradeoff for a free service like Facebook is that we are the product and not the customer, but I only like to let that tradeoff go so far.
