OK so the internet sucks for determining crap like this, dontchaknow?
Go to a boat store, an RV store, or a mom-and-pop trailer store. They have these universal 5 wire-to-four wire kits with a little black box (1x2 inches) in the middle...the 4wire end has a plug at the end to hook to the trailer.
This type of converter is designed for foreign cars.
1 goes to the left turn signal wire (LEFT side of the car).
1 goes to the right turn signal wire (Right side of the car).
1 goes to the brake light illumination wire (Either side).
1 goes to the tail lights (not brake) wire (Either side).
1 goes to the frame of the car (Ground).
there is one (LEFT OR RIGHT ?) wire that is much longer than the rest...it stretches across the car to reach the 'far side' directional wire.
I paid 25 bucks 7 years ago for mine. works great.
