As you know the painting is the easy part. Make sure it is prepped properly. Check the prime carefully. Fix any bad areas. Sand it all your self and clean with proper solvent to get the dirt and oil off.
Strip as much of the hardware as you can.....trim, handles, etc..
They can do an OK job. Some shops are better than others. Ask around if you can. There are other chains other than Maaco.
I would also check with a local body shop and get a price just for painting and masking with your prep.
A 2 part acrylic enamel is a good idea. If you don't clear coat you can actually color sand and polish yourself.
Paint is expensive. The good stuff is $500/gallon you can imagine what Maaco uses! That is why it is good to talk to an indy shop. Lots of indy shop only want to do insurance work because the profit is high....you can tell right away where they are coming from when you ask about a job like yours.
Good luck.
