Sure, more complexity can mean more issues but that's not necessarily the case. And lots of Garrett T-25s go far longer than 100K miles.
Having to run pricier oil is really not much of an issue, especially if the change interval is a bit longer. And FWIW...
My '96 9K lived on dino oil for its first 91K with the previous owner, changed every 3K. Now at 193K it's had synthoil every 5-7K miles, with a couple times running past 8K. Uses no oil, except for a few very minor drips.
Ditto for the '99 9-3 SE for the first 140K, all dino every 3K (I have all records). Now I do it every 5-6K with full synth, but the cost is really about the same due to fewer changes. Now at 164K
My other '96 9K had dino oil for the first 80K (1st owner), then various synths every 5K since then (2nd owner). I've had that one for a year and put almost 20K on it. Uses no oil, works fine at 167K.
The '03 9-5 (108K) had oil changed every 5-6K for the first 40K by the PO but that was a synthetic blend that the dealer put in before Saab required full synth. Now full synth every 5K. Uses a quart between changes, and has for the past 50K.
As for the other stuff you mention, they have been non-issues, and seem to me to be just basic maintenance stuff. Stuff fails on every car.
