Ok, this is pure speculation putting two pieces of information together and trying to read between the lines.
Piece 1: Spyker is looking partnering with Youngman to build cars on the Phoenix platform, which Youngman has “non-exclusive” rights to, and under the Spyker name.
Piece 2: Spyker is in talks with Jason Castriota about the using his design of the next gen 9-3. This design, while having elements of the Phoenix concept, also supposedly has “traditional” Saab design elements in it, etc.
I get Spyker looking at building cars on the Phoenix platform, (or rather instead of designing their own, looking around for an existing platform and deciding to go after the Phoenix). What I don’t get is if Spyker is looking for a totally unique brand identity why it would produce cars that “look” like Saabs, unless, Spyker/Youngman is looking at essentially “re-launching” Saab, just under the Spyker name?
And I totally realize, just because Spyker is thinking about this, doesn’t mean it will go anywhere.
