A single A/C drain hose in the console Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 12 Sep 2012 18:05:39 In Reply to: 2006 Cadillac CTS Leaking water on passenger side, Back2Saab, Sat, 8 Sep 2012 15:48:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Remove the shift plate on top of the console. It appears to snap on from the Service Manual. You will need to remove one electrical connector on the bottom side of the shift plate.
Remove both sides of the console. Again, these appear to snap onto the console. The Service Manual doesn't picture any front seats in the car at this step but doesn't say to remove them either.
Remove the console from the car. With the side covers removed you should see six screws that ned to be extracted to remove the console.
There is a single A/C drain hose which drains from the evaporator pan through the top of the floor tunnel. This hose is sealed as it passes thru the floor tunnel by a sticky asphaltic patch of material.
Maybe the hose is disconnected at the evaporator pan end. Maybe the hose no longer passes thru the floor tunnel and is discharging onto the car's tunnel top then floor. Maybe the hose is split or broken.
The Service Manual says the hose is a push-on to a fitting on the evaporator pan.
