I replace them all the time Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Mon, 15 Oct 2012 13:38:58 In Reply to: OT - broken breather hose, Steve T., Mon, 15 Oct 2012 07:42:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
No big deal when it is only the PCV hose from the box to valve cover.
Your car might have additional PCV issues (very common) where removing the intake manifold is needed but just for that hose, you have access from the side of manifold to get in and tighten a clamp around the hose.
Volvo changed the manufacturer in 05 of that hose and they all rot out and crack. So the new one is of the same material as the 04 and older that never brake.
I charge $45.00 in labor for just that hose. But to clean out the whole PCV system with removal of intake and replacing the PCV box and hose packages is close to $600.00 and if the PCV system is badly plugged up, removal of oil pan is also needed to clean out the lower PCV port and that is another $350.00.
