Are you sure it's the antenna and/or amplifier and not the cable? Maybe a connection (or connections) got water in it or got corroded.
Creating a good antenna + amplifier setup can be a bit of a black art. You might want to check/replace the cable before you replace the other stuff as you'd probably want to replace it anyway and it may solve your problem for short money.
