Are inexpensive wire feed welders worth owning? Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Thu, 25 Oct 2012 09:02:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I want to teach my self to weld. Specifically, I'd like to be able to do sheet metal welding so that I can cut out rust and weld sheet metal back in the non-cosmetic areas of my C900 - inside fenders and the like. I've got several spots that I've repaired over the past couple of years with POR-15/fiberglass screen that I'd like to strip out this Spring and replace with metal.
There seem to be a bunch of 110V flux-based, wire-feed welders for $100-$150 that I could choose from. I assume these welders would do the job (low power seems to jive with the application.
Opinions, please?
