Try denatured alcohol? This stuff doesn't burn through factory clear-coat, but maybe it'll get through the stuff that comes in the vial. My 9-5 came with an ugly pinstripe PAINTED on it. I folded a paper towel into a long strip, and used a spray bottle to apply the alcohol to the paper towel, allowing it to stick itself to the car. This allowed the alcohol to sit on the paint and after a couple minutes it wiped off like I was erasing a dry-erase board.
